SSNA Scoop! The Herpes, HPV and STD Newsletter
This is for people who want to express themselves and make a difference
through their writing. I've got some spots open on my Sexual Health Buzz blog for anybody that is interested in
being a contributor. That's ok if you already have your own online
journal because
their are some perks to contributing if you have a heart for helping
others and love to write.
As a contributor on
Sexual Health Buzz you can promote your online projects, self
promote, share announcements, and anything that you feel is beneficial
to the Social Support Networking Alliance (SSNA),
STD Community and well as your medical peers. This might be
another avenue of promoting the latest clinical trial or group social
outing to the movies.
Perhaps your network has frequently asked
questions and you don't have time to formulate an answer, contributing
the information to the Sexual Health Buzz blog might be another
consideration. It could wind up being your group's blog when you don't
have time to create one. It also keeps folks from reinventing the wheel
which can sometimes work against our common goal.
If you would prefer to
send your group's announcement to me instead of signing up to
contribute the information that is fine too. We try and encourage people
that are reading the blog to pass the information forward so we can
spread the word and cultivate a more positive vibe.
The great part about blogs is that people are going to be able to access
them on their cell
phones as a type of news alert. Then
there are news readers where individuals may subscribe to our blog and
can know up to the minute when something new or interesting has been
posted.
For those that are new to our little
networking alliance, it's a listing of social and supportive
groups across the country and around the world that share the goal of
helping people to overcome the isolation that often accompanies a
diagnosis at the doctor's office or clinic.
There are local
support groups that meet regularly. There are local
social groups that meet regularly. Then there are national
groups that get together a few times a year for bigger events. People
actually fly to these gatherings and some have taken cruises to far away
lands.
If you have a support group, social group,
online network, or blog that you feel promotes positivity within
the health community whether it be from the patient's perspective or the
care giver's, feel free to contact us as soon as possible because we
would like to list your organization. Your cause need not be limited to
herpes or hpv support, it could be any STD or miscellaneous health
issue.
The only requirement to be listed within the network would be to place a
clickable banner or clickable text link on your site or group's
home page. It's better if your guests can access this information
without having to sign up. Once everything is in place we will post your
group's information accordingly.
In addition to posting your group's information and/or announcements we
promise to do whatever we can to network with other site owners and blog
author's and encourage them to do the same. All it takes is one person
to pay it forward so that one person can benefit emotionally in a
positive way. We want people to know that there are others waiting to
share their knowledge and experience regarding the particulars of how we
bumped into each other at home, in our communities, and on the internet.
