Unsubscribed, Banned OR Time Out

If you receive this message in your e-mail box that means you have been unsubscribed, banned or placed on temporary time-out from Picking Up the Pieces (PUP) by a group moderator.

Reasons that you have been unsubscribed, banned OR placed on temporary time-out include:

  • Repeated flaming on or off-list

  • Posting of adult content to an “all ages” list

  • Extreme violations of the PUP guidelines

  • Violations of yahoo's terms of service

  • Spamming

  • Harvesting of e-mail addresses

  • Commercial advertising for personal gain

  • Repeated use of an auto-responder

  • Refusing to edit YOUR pup yahoo group membership yourself

If you feel that you have been unsubscribed, banned OR placed on temporary time-out an error, feel free to write to the PUP group moderators.

Sometimes there will be instances where it is necessary to ban somebody just because. In those cases there is usually a very good reason that this was done. So not everybody that has been banned did anything that was necessarily "bad". Sometimes people just need to take a break for a short time until they can get their heads together to figure out what it is they want. We have had people in the past participate for a time, leave the group under rocky circumstances, come back to the group, invest in spending more time, and then leave the group under pour circumstances again. That just tells us that perhaps people need to take a break or "time out" so they can think more clear and be able to figure out on their own why they are doing these things. So again.. If you were banned from joining PUP it's not necessarily because our group guidelines weren't followed but more to help you figure out what your problem might be so that you can't take it out on the moderators or the group members.
