If you pay close attention to each of the forum descriptions you can figure out what it all means.
For Example:
{Read Only} <--- When you see that one it just means that people are able to only read in those forums.
{Ultra Private} <--- When you see that one is just means that there are special circumstances where only certain registered users can gain access to those areas.
{Private Forum} <--- When you see that one it just means that unless you are a registered user you will not be able to read or understand OR see who is posting in those areas. Sometimes people like it that way. But for those of you looking for private places to post...you might want to think of a screen name that nobody knows about, k?
{Quite Public} <--- When you see that one it just means that you don't have to be registered in order to see or read the forum. You are able to read to your hearts content and remain in lurk mode simply because you have not registered yet. It's almost probable because you don't have time OR you're just plain ol' chicken shit. Either way... those are areas on the forum where it's imperative that the public be able to read about what's going on without having to register if they really don't want to.
No matter which section you find yourself under... if you are a guest you will be able to read in some forums and in others you will not even be able to access a single post. You have to register no matter what in order to participate. If you want to lurk, more power to you...you just can't access certain things.
