My name is Traci and I am looking forward to helping people through this H Pal Program. I got herpes when I was 17 years old from my 1st love. My boyfriend thought I must have cheated on him because he didn't have herpes and how else could I have gotten it.

Well, he had a cold sore and we had oral sex. We didn't know back then that you can pass herpes via oral sex. So, I've pretty much been ashamed and embarrassed about having herpes all of these years. I've really ignored it until this past year when I saw a herpes online group. I joined it and have been able to learn about herpes and acknowledge the fact that I have nothing to be ashamed about.

The network of people is amazing and I feel it really truly helps so many of us who do feel ashamed. I want to be able to help in anyway I can. I don't want to see others like myself live in fear and doubt. I want to help them face the herpes issue and know they are not alone. - Traci
