Hi! My name is Samantha. I'm 42 yrs old and have had HPV for 22yrs. December 2001, I was diagnosed with HSV2. I beat myself up wondering how I could be so stupid as I had been in a monogamous relationship (or so I thought) for 2 yrs. but neither of us were tested prior to being together and he showed no signs. 90% of people who have HSV don't even know they have it.

Just like many of you, I have gone through all the depression, guilt, being ashamed and even kept myself prisoner in my own house for almost 1 year. All the emotions you might be feeling about your diagnosis I can totally relate to. I was in denial for almost 1.5 years before I found a support group here in Michigan.

I have spent some time as a moderator for the online support and social group MCF2 here the Detroit area. I attend many of our local social activities when I can because I am also busy as the main caregiver to my Mother who has been ill all year.

I just want you to know that if you need a shoulder to cry on, a friendly ear to listen or need help finding support or other H friends to hang out with in Michigan feel free to send me an email. I would love to hear from you. - Samantha
