Hi, My name's Jeannie and I am your Aussie H-Pal representative!

I contracted HSV2 genitally several years ago. The news devastated me and I admit that I dealt with it very badly at first. It took me a long time to talk about it and even longer to ask for emotional support. I needed to come to terms with having it for life. 

The Herpes Hangout Support Group changed my attitude and my life and I now spend most of my spare time working on ways to aid in the destigmatisation of the virus, providing information resources and support to others in need. 

I am currently working on a book about Herpes - a collection of real life stories which I hope to have published in order to give non-net people (yes, they do exist!) access to the kind of fabulous resources available on the net through support groups and sites like Yoshi2me.com

I am also one of the founding members of the Hevent Team who organize Australia's National Herpes Gathering. Our catchphrase is: "Celebrating life after Herpes!" because it is important to remember that life is worth celebrating , even if you do have Herpes! I look forward to hearing from you. - Jeannie
